The Plot:


Andy Dufresne, is sent to Shawshank Prison for the murder of his wife and secret lover. He is very isolated and lonely at first, but realizes there is something deep inside your body, that people can't touch and get to....'HOPE'. Andy becomes friends with prison 'fixer' Red, and Andy epitomizes why it is crucial to have dreams. His spirit and determination, leads us into a world full of imagination, filled with courage and desire. Will Andy ever realize his dreams?


故事內容:


年輕有為的銀行家杜安迪被控殺妻,判處終身監禁在沙索克監獄服刑,不久他與囚犯中的老大哥紅人成為莫逆,紅人多次申請假釋失敗,壯志消沉,甘心只做獄中英雄,但安迪含冤入獄,不肯認命,深信一日必可重獲自由.他運用個人專長,幫助貪污獄長處理財務,並為囚犯爭取在獄中福利,終於在一個狂風暴雨之夜,安迪結束了二十年的牢獄生涯,而他的逃走,更為紅人帶來積極的啟示....

We are honored to have two guest speakers from the US Consulate of Hong Kong: Ms A. Dorman, Office management specialist from the Economic-Political Section and Mr. R. Whatley , Financial Management Officer, facilitating the post-screening discussion. There will be an overview of the civil rights movement, the historical context and the stance of the United States today.


The Plot:

THE TUSKEGEE AIRMEN, produced by HBO in 1995, is an inspirational and powerfully told story of some of the men among the first black aviators in the US military. The film is based on the story of Robert W. Williams, a World War II African-American fighter pilot, about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first squadron of Black combat fighter pilots. It details how the legendary African American fighter pilots of World War II, overcame racism for the right to serve their country and emerged from World War II wreathed with honor. The film itself focuses on the struggles of a group of college-educated, patriotic African-Americans who enlist as airmen as part of a government training program in Tuskegee, Alabama, during the height of World War II.

故事內容:
二次大戰時美方實驗性的訓練一批黑人戰鬥機飛行員,但國會中反對聲浪這群黑人戰鬥機飛行員用行動證明自己在整個戰爭中,所護航的轟炸機沒有一架在任務中遭敵機擊落,本身亦贏得了殊榮。
